The recycling industry has evolved around the hub-and-spoke business model. Trucks go out to collect recyclables and bring them back to a central hub for processing. This model worked very well for most materials where sufficient weight could be collected and returned to the recycling facility to make the economics sustainable. EPS and other high volume/low weight plastics did NOT work in this model and were mainly forgotten. An innovation outside the mainstream recycling model was needed.

By enabling mobile plastic foam recycling we unlocked the ability for responsible recycling options to be available at a cost effective rate across a very wide geographic area. A few mobile processing trucks can offer service across an entire province/state at a fraction of the cost and carbon footprint of traditional recycling methods.
